The Story of Líbera Art: A Creative Journey
Share
Sara Líbera has always lived in a creative environment. From an early age, she was introduced to the arts, starting with music, which was a natural part of her upbringing. Over time, her curiosity expanded into other creative forms, particularly sculpture, as she worked with iron and wood to craft unique pieces influenced by her father’s hands-on creativity. Eventually, Sara found herself drawn to contemporary and abstract art, where she could explore emotions, ideas, and the complexity of human experience through bold forms and expressive compositions. Now, Sara is diving into her series Connections, which centres on abstract art and explores the profound interconnection of all things—between ourselves, the people in our lives, and the larger web of events and the universe. For Sara, this series is a way to visually represent the unseen bonds that tie us together, both tangible and intangible, creating a visual language that speaks to shared experiences.
Sofia Líbera’s creative path, while different, was equally rooted in self-expression. As a child and teenager, she was more focused on storytelling and writing, using words as her primary medium to explore her thoughts and connect with her inner world. It wasn’t until her teenage years that she began experimenting with painting and drawing, merging visual art with her passion for narrative. In her early adulthood, Sofia fully embraced painting, discovering it as a way to lose herself in colour, texture, and form. This blending of words and visuals evolved into Kitchen Talks, a project where Sofia combines her love of storytelling with her paintings. Kitchen Talks weaves narrative and art to explore life’s intimate wisdoms, shared human moments, and emotional depth, creating a unique fusion of storytelling and creativity.
By the end of 2024, these two distinct creative paths began to converge. Sara, whose Connections series was deepening her exploration of abstract art, and Sofia, whose Kitchen Talks was bridging the gap between words and visuals, realised their shared passion for creativity could grow into something more. Together, the mother-and-daughter duo decided to share their work with the world, creating a space for others to explore their own artistic potential.
And so, Líbera Art was born—a brand that celebrates their unique styles and collaborative vision. For Sara and Sofia, art isn’t just about the final piece; it’s about the process, the storytelling, and the connection it creates. Through Líbera Art, they aim to inspire others to embrace creativity in all its forms, whether through painting, writing, or simply exploring new ways to express themselves.
Looking ahead to 2025, Líbera Art is set to grow into more than just a platform for their art. Sara and Sofia hope it becomes a community where creatives, collectors, and art lovers can connect and be inspired. With new series, exciting projects, exhibitions, and an expanding vision, Líbera Art is just getting started.
